DENTAL CARE

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. We also offer oravet barrier sealant, both during the dental cleaning and for at home use. Within the next few months we will also be offering dental x-rays.

EMERGENCY AND CRITICAL CARE

In any emergency, seconds count.  Emergency care is offered during regular business hours. In addition, we use the services of a local, fully staffed emergency center.

FULLY STOCKED PHARMACY

We stock a wide range of veterinary drugs and products to better suit the needs of our clients, and their four-legged friends.

HOSPICE/EUTHANASIA SERVICES

Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client. We also have cremation services available at a local crematorium.

IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE

We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; 3D heartworm testing (includes lymes, and ehrlichia) and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages. Vaccinations are started at 6 weeks of age and the series is generally completed between 4-6 months of age.

LASERS

Lasers are a minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery. Lasers replace scalpels in many procedures, and are useful for a wide range of conditions, such as cyst, tumor, and wart removal, and can even be used in declawing. Laser procedures result in less pain; less bleeding and less swelling. They reduce risk of infection and result in less post-operative discomfort. We preform all declawing and ear cropping procedures with laser. Laser can also be elected for all routine surgeries such as spaying and neutering.

MICROCHIPPING

Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the the home again microchip to ensure your pet's safety. Microchipping can be done at any age and no anesthesia is necessary. We also offer tattooing as an alternative to microchipping. This is done under anesthesia and can be done at any age over 10 weeks. Generally the drivers license is used, but we have also done names, social security numbers and other letters and numbers.

NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING

Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active. We have several diets available to choose from including, science diet, royal canin and eukanuba.

RADIOLOGY

Radiology  or X-rays  help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems.  We will also be offering dental x-rays in the coming months to better suit our patients needs.

PAIN MANAGEMENT

Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. We offer pain medication during and after surgery to better help the recovery process.

SURGERY

We offer a variety of different surgical procedures. Ranging from routine spaying and neutering to ear cropping and tail docking. Doctor Nelkie specializes in ear cropping and has been performing this surgical procedure for thirty years. Our clinic offers pre-anesthesia blood work, laser, and surgical monitoring (ECG, blood pressure, heart rate, etc.).
